Efficient organic farming is not possible without modern technologies

The VERIS soil spectrophotometer in action. One of the protagonists of our new project is the VERIS professional soil spectrophotometer, which came to us last fall as a donation from Australia, courtesy of the Berney Foundation. This year, it is continuing its valuable work on Hungarian land, at our on-farm partner, Csoroszlya Farm.

With the help of this precision instrument that can be mounted on a tractor, we can obtain important data on the condition and composition of the soil by scanning the fields. Among other things, VERIS measures (electrical) conductivity, which can be used to assess the moisture and salinity parameters of the soil.

And that's not all. With VERIS, we can analyse the spectrum of the soil, which can be used to separate areas with different quality and nutrient supply. Thanks to the precise survey, an accurate and site-specific nutrient replenishment plan can be prepared, and we can also monitor the quality changes of our soils resulting from various cultivation methods.

These precise solutions contribute to the development of effective and cost-effective nutrient management and soil preparation strategies, which are essential in prevention-based organic farming. In this case, technology and organic farming methods go hand in hand. We will share more news with you soon about our projects using digital technologies. Take a look at our website.
