Bunt treatment methods
Within the scope of the LIVESEED project several videos will be developed to promote organic seed use, discuss innovative breeding strategies and show some innovative seed quality and health ideas.
In his new video, variety breeder Anders Borgens now presents the methods for protection against wheat karnal bunt appropriate for organic agriculture. The video consists of two parts: brush cleaning and vinegar treatment.
The video was made under the LIVESEED project.
LIVESEED is a EU Horizon 2020-funded project, which aims to improve transparency and competitiveness of the organic seed and breeding sector, encouraging greater use of organic seed. Cultivars adapted to organic systems are key for realising the full potential of organic agriculture in Europe.
